The Newlyn Reelers play traditional English, Irish, Scottish and
American Folk Tunes, and includes traditional Cornish folk music.
All our instruments are acoustic, and are amplified using our
own P.A. system. We usually play
amplified, but can play acoustically if no power is available!
We are a dance band, playing a selection of reels, jigs,
hornpipes, waltzes and polkas, to suit the specific dances, which our caller or
M.C. chooses for your event. We can
also play a selection of music between dances or during breaks.
Our experienced callers choose dances according to the age and
experience of the dancers, and ensure that everyone can join and have a great
time. Barn dancing is easy, and fun for
all ages. The dances we do include
square dances, circle dances, long-ways sets, couple dances and mixers.
